One of the major developments in aviation safety regulation is the introduction of safety management including performance/risk based oversight. In the airworthiness domain, approved organisations will be required to implement safety management systems and National Aviation Authorities will have to add performance based oversight to their tools for ensuring aviation safety.
As part of its own risk based oversight, EASA is formalising its Level of Involvement (LOI) in product certification. This will also have an impact on applicants for type certificates and supplemental type certificates.
TEASAS is closely monitoring these developments and our Associates have been directly involved in drafting the new requirements. We are ideally placed therefore to support Authorities and Industry in implementing the new concepts.
Effective implementation of these new requirements will not only deliver improvements in safety performance, but can also improve business efficiency and reduce costs.
